Scheme

The Tamil Nadu Government has introduced a health insurance scheme to cover all families of various welfare boards as well as families earning less than Rs. 72,000/- per annum.

Salient Feature

The salient feature of the scheme is the coverage for treatment of specified Surgical procedures. The sum insured under the scheme will be Rs. 1 lakh per family for a period of 4 years. The scheme shall benefit over 1 crore families in the state of Tamil Nadu.

Insurer

The insurance cover under this scheme is provided by Star Health & Allied Insurance Co. Ltd. The entire premium is borne by the Govt. of Tamil Nadu.
